Open kitchen, product and market

Facing the market. At the heart of everything.

Facing the market At the heart of everything

In April 2026 we opened Barrita, a project born in front of Castellón’s Mercado Central to bring back something we felt was being lost: bar culture.

A place to walk in for a quick beer and end up sharing oysters, a plate of fried fish and bites in the form of brioche or bikini (Spanish-style toastie). Where the product takes center stage, but the atmosphere matters just as much.

Inspired by the taverns of southern Spain and the bars we always remember, we created a relaxed, welcoming, no-frills space where time-honored recipes live alongside a contemporary outlook.

Here you’ll find a place to share small plates, raise a toast, talk, and stay a little longer than planned.

Same DNA as Barriga, different personality. If at Barriga the table is the star, at Barrita it’s the bar. If one celebrates the long after-meal chat, the other champions the aperitif, tapas, and impromptu get-togethers. Two different ways of experiencing food in Castellón that share the same philosophy: product, closeness, and a hospitality worth coming back to again and again.

Bar to Share... Or Not.

Bar to Share... Or Not.

Bar to Share... Or Not.

Gildas, preserves, croquettes, bravas, fried fish, fresh seafood, bites that carry great stories, and small plates that never fail.

The offering changes with the market, the seasons, and whatever arrives at our counter each morning. Because here the product sets the pace and everything else simply follows.

Divided so it’s clear when booking: three spaces. One same way of understanding the bar.

The outdoor bar for those who prefer to experience Castellón from the street. The large indoor bar for lovers of a long aperitif, unexpected rounds, and conversations that run late.

And La Pescadería, probably Barrita’s most special corner: a space with benches and low tables, presided over by a display case of fresh fish and seafood that connects directly with the Mercado Central and reminds us that here, above all, the product is king.
